China’s out of control space station TIANGONG 1 will crash to earth in 2018 March

Chinese space station TIANGONG 1 will re-enter earth atmosphere in Mid-March 2018. The China National Space Agency(CNSA) officially confirmed the loss of control over the space station by September of 2017.

Now the satellite trackers and scientist are estimating the reentry of the spacecraft will be on 2018 March.

According to the experts, most of the parts of this space station will be burned during its atmospheric travel but there is a slight chance to survive the atmospheric entry and reach earth surface.

The Aerospace Corporation is tracking and observing the atmospheric entry of the TIANGONG 1 and they released a map of alert areas.

The aerospace corporation divided the globe into three zones with Blue, Yellow and Green colours. The Blue zone indicate zero possibility of the crash, Green zone indicate low possibility and Yellow one Indicate the higher possibility of the TIANGONG 1’s debris hit.

Learn More about TANGONG 1

The word “TIANGONG” means heavenly palace. It was a dream project of CNSA, they launched TIANGONG 1 in 2013 and it was a breakthrough for Chinese space research programmes. The successful launch of this space station is considered as the entry of China as a space power.

The TIANGONG-1 was designed as a crew orbital laboratory. CNSA used TIANGONG 1 for both manned and unmanned space missions.

Chinees taikonauts including first women taikonaut Liu Yang docked the spacecraft Shenzhou 9 with the space station and spend 6 days there.

The space station mission was originally planned to end in 2013 but CNSA increased the mission duration to 2016.

Anyway, the mission was not planned as a permanent orbital space station it was just a prototype station to test docking. So the experience form the TIANGONG 1 station will be useful for the future space mission for the world.
